Junior rover Dan Miller of the Muhlenberg football team has been named to the Centennial Conference Weekly Honor Roll after making a career-high 17 tackles in the Mules’ 35-14 loss to McDaniel.

Green Terror running back Jason Hartman, who rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns, was offensive player of the week. Ursinus defensive back Eric Shipe recorded 10 tackles, an interception and a blocked punt in a 27-24 win against Mt. Ida, earning defensive player-of-the-week honors.

Elsewhere in the CC, Johns Hopkins remained the lone undefeated team, improving to 4-0 by winning its league opener, 23-21 against Gettysburg. Franklin & Marshall was blanked at Carnegie Mellon, 21-0.

Tennis Duo Wins Consolation Bracket

The Muhlenberg doubles team of sophomore Jeff Kraft and senior Matt Fleissig won the consolation bracket at the ITA Southeast Regional men’s tennis tournament, hosted by Salisbury.

Kraft and Fleissig dropped their first match by an 8-4 score to the top-seeded duo from Washington, but came back to win their next four matches. The Mule team advanced to the final by defeating two other Centennial Conference duos, one from Johns Hopkins and the other from Washington.

Kraft and Fleissig completed their run through the consolation draw with an 8-4 win against a team from Lebanon Valley.
