The Muhlenberg volleyball team will team up with two other Mule squads for a night of volleyball to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina on Thursday, October 6.

Three members of the volleyball team put together the event after they Red Cross were assigned a project to benefit a non-profit organization.

Beginning at 8:00, the volleyball and men’s soccer teams will revive an old Muhlenberg tradition when they play a unique style of volleyball. The soccer players can only use their heads and feet (not their hands) and the volleyball players are not allowed to spike the ball.

At about 8:30, in the featured event, members of the football team will take on the volleyball team.

There is a minimum $2 donation at the door. Between games, participants who pay $1 will have a chance to win prizes donated by local establishments in a serving contest.

All proceeds, including those from donated concessions, will go to the American Red Cross.
