Juniors Justin Rubenstein and Justin Graf and freshman Matt Long each had a double and a triple as the Muhlenberg baseball team sprinted out to a 10-0 lead en route
Aaron Regensburg
Regensburg’s five wins tie the school record for a freshman set by Mike Reid in 1973.
to an 11-6 win at Dickinson.

With the win, the Mules (19-12, 10-4) tied the school record for victories in a season (19, set in 1982) and clinched a berth in the Centennial Conference playoffs, which begin May 3. Muhlenberg is in fourth place in the CC with four games to play and clinched the berth when Western Maryland and Haverford, who are tied for fifth, both lost to fall to 5-9.

It was also a milestone day for senior Joshua Carter and freshman Aaron Regensburg. Carter ground a single through the right side in the top of the eighth to become the program’s all-time leader with 177 hits. Regensburg took a shutout into the sixth inning to earn his fifth win of the season, tying the school record for freshmen.

After going on top on an error in the second, the Mules plated two more runs in the third, thanks to a double steal by Rubenstein and Carter. One run scored when the catcher’s throw went into left field, and another on a sacrifice fly by junior Ben Carr.

Three two-out hits – a double by Long, a triple by Graf and a single by Rubenstein – added two runs in the fourth. Muhlenberg blew the game wide open with five in the sixth, the big blow being Rubenstein’s two-run triple.

Rubenstein finished 3-for-6 with three RBI, while Long was 3-for-5 with a pair driven in.
