Recent Muhlenberg graduate Matt Loesch was named to the ESPN The Magazine All-District II College Division At-Large Team. As a first-team selection, he will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors.

District II College Division consists of all NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA colleges and universities in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. To be nominated for the at-large team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and a Matt
Loesch starter or significant reserve on his team in the sport of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo or wrestling.

Loesch, who graduated cum laude with honors in business administration last weekend, was a three-time wrestling All-American. His fourth-place finish in the 197-pound weight class in 2005 is the best ever by a Mule at the NCAA Championships. Loesch also won four Centennial Conference titles and received the 2007 Chris Clifford Award as the senior with the most career tournament points. He finished his career with a record of 90-16 and was ranked first in Division III in his weight class as a junior.

Loesch recently was awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. He was selected to the Academic All-District second team last year.
