Monday, March 10, 2014

David Anderson Junior David Anderson of the Muhlenberg baseball team was named pitcher of the week by the Centennial Conference.

Pitching on three days of rest, Anderson tossed eight shutout innings against a York (Pa.) squad that came in with a .340 team batting average and had scored 43 runs in its last three games. He allowed only two hits and one walk while striking out five in the longest outing of his career. Muhlenberg won the game, 2-1, in 10 innings.

For the season, Anderson is 0-1 despite having a sparkling 2.08 ERA in two starts. He is holding oppposing hitters to a .156 batting average.

Anderson will have plenty more rest before his next start. The Mules’ first two scheduled games since returning from Spring Break in Myrtle Beach were postponed, with the game against Moravian, slated for Wednesday, rescheduled for Wednesday, April 9.
